80s Filter (80sfilter.try2.app) is built and operated by TRY2APP LTD, a UK-registered company that builds a small number of focused, single-purpose AI photo apps rather than one large product. 80s Filter does one thing — turn an uploaded photo into a 1980s-style portrait using an AI image model — and nothing else.
80s Filter is owned and operated by TRY2APP LTD, a company registered in the United Kingdom. The web app at 80sfilter.try2.app and the 80s Filter iPhone app on the App Store are both built and maintained by the same company, sharing the same 1980s restyle concept but run as separate products with separate accounts and separate subscriptions.
You upload one photo. The Service sends it, over an encrypted connection through a relay we operate, to fal.ai, which runs OpenAI's GPT Image 2 model to rebuild the hair, wardrobe, lighting, film grain and background into a mid-1980s look while keeping your face and expression. There is one fixed look — no style picker, no prompt box on the site itself. A result takes roughly 20–60 seconds. Full technical and legal detail is in our Terms and Privacy Policy.
The guides, blog posts and look pages on this site are written in-house by the team that builds the product, describing the actual behaviour of 80s Filter and the AI trend around it — not licensed or AI-bulk-generated filler. Pages carry a "last updated" date and are revised when the product or pricing changes. We do not display star ratings or review counts anywhere on this site, because we don't have real ones to show — we'd rather leave that space empty than fake it.
