This Privacy Policy explains what the 80s Filter web app (80sfilter.try2.app), operated by TRY2APP LTD, does with your information.
When you generate an image, the photo you upload is transmitted over an encrypted connection, through a relay server we operate (which keeps our AI provider key off the browser), to our AI provider fal.ai, which runs OpenAI's GPT Image 2 model, solely to produce your restyled image.
If you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password (or, with Google Sign-In, your Google account email), handled by Firebase Authentication. If you subscribe anonymously, we do not collect an email — we store only a random identifier in a cookie on your device. Either way, we store your current subscription status and your weekly usage count, keyed to that identifier, in Cloudflare KV. When you subscribe, your name, email and payment details are collected directly by Polar, our merchant of record — we never see or store your card number, and for an anonymous subscription the email you enter at checkout is held by Polar, not by us (unless you later add it to a Studio account).
Finished images are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage, associated with your account id, so they appear in your Studio and can be downloaded later. We keep the 12 most recent per account.
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Firebase Authentication (Google) | Account sign-up, login, password reset, Google Sign-In |
| fal.ai (running OpenAI GPT Image 2) | Generates the restyled image from your uploaded photo |
| Polar Software Inc. | Merchant of record — checkout, payment, billing, subscription management, tax |
| Cloudflare | Hosting, the request relay, and storage (KV + R2) for your subscription state and generated images |
We may use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate, non-identifying usage of the site (page views, referrers). It does not receive your uploaded photos or generated images.
Uploaded photos: not retained after generation. Generated images: kept while your account exists (most recent 12 per account). Account and subscription records: kept while your account exists, and for a short period afterward as required for accounting and fraud prevention.
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account and associated data (including your stored images) at any time by emailing admin@try2.app. You can cancel your subscription and manage billing data through the Polar customer portal. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA; contact us to exercise them.
